Internet interoperability is provided in many flavors:
Using Java's Remote Method Invocation, a server instance of the application will allow for an unlimited number of client connections. A client may be another instance of the application, a browser, a phone or a PDA. Using Java's Cryptography Extensions, authentication is performed on a client wishing to connect to a server. User set-up and maintenance is allowed from the server instance only. Combined with Java's Media Framework and the Real-time Transfer Protocol, both Audio (voice messages) and Video can be streamed from the server to all connected clients. Using the Java Mail API, the application can send email/text messages to any valid email address. Email attachments may include voice messages, video snapshots or video MPEGs. A password protected account may be set-up on edtreehouse.com for static HTML posts and video snapshots or video MPEGs. |
